Video Wall Technologies

LED, LCD, and specialized platforms like Barco UniSee each have advantages depending on the application, viewing distance, content type, and operating environment. We recommend the right technology for your use case.

Direct-View LED Video Walls

Truly seamless — no bezels, no visible panel boundaries. Available in pixel pitches from 0.9mm for close-viewing executive boardrooms to 4mm+ for large-format lobbies and outdoor installations. Modular panels for any size or aspect ratio.

Barco UniSee LCD Video Walls

Barco UniSee platform features the industry's thinnest bezels (under 1mm), automatic color and brightness calibration, and rear-access serviceability. Ideal for command centers, control rooms, and 24/7 monitoring environments.

LCD Panel Video Walls

Commercial-grade LCD panels in 2×2, 3×3, and custom configurations. Ultra-narrow bezel designs minimize visible seams. A cost-effective option for retail, corporate lobbies, and environments where seamless appearance is less critical.

Outdoor & High-Brightness LED

Weather-rated LED panels for outdoor installations — building facades, stadium scoreboards, drive-through menus, and event venues. High brightness for direct sunlight visibility with IP65 or higher environmental protection.

Curved & Creative LED

Curved, angled, and custom-shaped LED configurations for architectural installations, stage backdrops, retail environments, and immersive experiences. Concave, convex, and L-shaped designs that standard flat panels cannot achieve.

Video Wall Processing

Multi-source video processors that display multiple inputs simultaneously — camera feeds, dashboards, presentations, and live data — in configurable layouts. Switch between presets instantly for different operational modes.

Video Wall Applications

The right video wall technology depends on where it will be used and what it needs to display. Here are the most common deployments we design and install.

Corporate Lobbies & Reception

Brand-defining visual statements that impress visitors from the moment they walk in. Dynamic content — brand videos, welcome messaging, live social feeds — managed through cloud CMS platforms your marketing team controls.

Command Centers & NOCs

24/7 operational environments displaying real-time data from multiple sources. Barco UniSee with automatic calibration ensures color and brightness consistency across panels even after years of continuous operation.

Retail & Showrooms

Product showcases, lifestyle content, and promotional messaging on large-format displays that attract customers and drive sales. Managed centrally across multiple retail locations.

Broadcast Studios

On-set video walls for news desks, studios, and production environments. Fine-pitch LED with accurate color reproduction and consistent brightness for camera-facing applications.

Houses of Worship

Stage backdrop LED walls for worship lyrics, sermon graphics, and IMAG camera feeds. Designed for visibility from every seat with brightness and color calibrated for the worship environment lighting.

Sports & Entertainment Venues

Scoreboards, replay screens, ribbon boards, and concourse displays. High-brightness outdoor-rated LED with real-time scoring integration and content management for advertising and sponsorship displays.

FROM THE FIELD

A regional credit union headquarters in Murray needed a video wall for their new lobby that would display brand content for visitors while also serving as a presentation display for company meetings held in the adjacent open floor plan. We installed a 3×3 Barco UniSee LCD wall with a multi-source processor. During business hours, the wall runs brand content from a cloud CMS. When the space converts for all-hands meetings, a single button switches the wall to presentation mode — full-screen from a wireless presentation system. The sub-1mm bezels are virtually invisible, and the automatic calibration keeps every panel matched perfectly. The credit union’s marketing director updates content weekly without calling IT.

GREAT FIT IF YOU…
  • Corporate lobbies that want a premium visual statement
  • Command centers, NOCs, and operations centers requiring 24/7 multi-source display
  • Retail environments using large-format displays to drive customer engagement
  • Houses of worship and event venues needing stage backdrop displays
  • Organizations that need to display multiple data sources simultaneously
NOT THE BEST FIT IF YOU…
  • Businesses that only need a single large-screen TV for presentations
  • Budget-constrained projects where a single 85-inch display would suffice
  • Temporary installations that will be removed within a few months

Why Brivy IT for Video Walls

  • Barco authorized partner — UniSee video wall design, installation, and calibration. Access to Barco engineering resources and priority support.
  • Pixel pitch engineering — We calculate optimal pixel pitch based on minimum viewing distance, content type, and budget. You get the right resolution without overspending on unnecessary pixel density.
  • Structural assessment — Video walls are heavy. We evaluate wall structure, specify mounting systems, and coordinate with structural engineers when reinforcement is needed.
  • Content strategy — A video wall without compelling content is an expensive blank wall. We integrate cloud CMS platforms, data feeds, and multi-source processors so your wall delivers value from day one.
  • Full-stack integration — Network infrastructure, content management, data feeds, and AV control all designed and supported by one company.
  • 24/7 support available — For mission-critical command center and operations center walls, we offer maintenance contracts with priority response and remote monitoring.

Video Wall FAQ

What is pixel pitch and how do I choose the right one?
Pixel pitch is the distance in millimeters between the center of each LED pixel. Smaller pixel pitch means higher resolution and closer minimum viewing distance. For a lobby where viewers stand 6-10 feet away, 1.5-2.5mm pitch is common. For a large venue viewed from 20+ feet, 3-4mm pitch delivers excellent results at lower cost.
What is the difference between LED and LCD video walls?
LED video walls use individual light-emitting diodes and have zero bezels between panels — truly seamless. LCD video walls use backlit liquid crystal panels with thin bezels (under 1mm on premium models like Barco UniSee). LED is seamless and brighter; LCD is typically less expensive for equivalent size.
How long do LED video walls last?
Quality LED panels are rated for 100,000+ hours of continuous operation — over 11 years at 24/7 use. Brightness degrades gradually over time, and individual modules can be replaced without replacing the entire wall.
Can a video wall display multiple sources at once?
Yes. Video wall processors can display multiple inputs in configurable layouts — for example, a command center wall showing 12 camera feeds, 4 dashboards, and a news ticker simultaneously. Layouts can be preset and switched with one touch.
How much does a video wall cost?
Video wall pricing depends on technology, size, and pixel pitch. A 2×2 LCD video wall might start around $15,000-$25,000 installed. A fine-pitch LED wall for a corporate lobby can range from $50,000 to $200,000+ depending on size and pixel pitch. We provide detailed proposals after a site assessment.
Do video walls require special electrical or structural work?
Often yes. Video walls draw significant power and may require dedicated circuits. They are also heavy — a 3×3 LCD wall can weigh over 500 pounds. We assess structural capacity, specify electrical requirements, and coordinate with electricians and structural engineers as part of every project.
