PHYSICAL SECURITY

Free Physical Security Assessment for Utah Businesses

We come to your facility, walk every space, assess your current security, and give you a written summary of what we find — including coverage gaps, system vulnerabilities, and 2-3 options with honest cost comparisons. Whether or not you hire us.

Most ‘free assessments’ in the security industry are sales calls with a product presentation at the end. You already know that, which is why you’re reading the fine print.

Brivy IT’s security assessments are different in one specific way: the deliverable is written, specific to your facility, and yours to keep regardless of what you decide. You’ll have a documented summary of your current security system, a coverage map showing gaps, and written options with real cost comparisons. If you hire us, great. If you don’t, you’ve still got a useful document for budget conversations, insurance documentation, or getting quotes from other vendors.

What the Assessment Actually Includes

One Hour On-Site. Written Findings the Same Day or Within a Few Days.

Facility Walkthrough

Every space with security implications: entrances, exits, parking, loading docks, server rooms, high-value storage areas, stairwells. We walk everything, not just existing camera areas.

Existing System Documentation

We inventory every camera, door control, and recording device. Make, model, age, condition, coverage angle, and whether it's actually functioning as intended.

Live Recording Verification

We verify cameras are recording, the DVR/NVR has adequate storage, and footage is usable. You'd be surprised how often this finds a system that appears operational but isn't.

Coverage Map

We document what your existing cameras actually cover — and more importantly, what they don't. Every blind spot, every uncovered entrance, every gap gets noted.

Use Case Conversation

We ask what you actually need to monitor, respond to, and document. A car dealership has different priorities than a medical office. Your specific use case shapes every recommendation.

Written Options With Costs

You receive 2-3 options: 'make what you have work better,' 'targeted upgrades that close the most important gaps,' and 'full replacement if justified.' Each includes honest cost context.

The Written Deliverable — What You'll Have When We're Done

The assessment deliverable isn’t a slide deck or a vendor proposal. It’s a working document you can actually use.

What's In the Written SummaryWhat You Can Do With It
Existing system inventory: every camera, door control, and recording deviceUse for insurance documentation or compliance audit response
Coverage map: visual representation of covered and uncovered areasPresent internally to justify security budget request
Identified vulnerabilities: specific gaps and what they leave exposedShare with your insurer or attorney if relevant
2-3 written options with cost rangesGet competitive quotes — other vendors can bid against a real spec
Platform recommendation with reasoningMake an informed decision without depending on our opinion
Timeline estimates for each optionPlan capital expenditure and operational disruption
FROM THE FIELD

The most useful thing we’ve ever said on a sales call: ‘Your system is actually fine. Here are two things to fix, and you don’t need us to fix either of them.’

We’ve said that. More than once. The business owner who gets that answer doesn’t hire us that day — but they call us six months later when they open a new location, and they send us two referrals in the meantime. A genuine assessment builds the kind of trust that a high-pressure sales process destroys.

Who Should Request an Assessment

GREAT FIT IF YOU…
  • Considering a new camera or access control system
  • Opening a new location and want to design security correctly
  • Current system installed by someone who's no longer around
  • Had a security incident and want to understand what you're missing
  • Insurer or auditor flagged physical security as a concern
  • Managing multiple locations and want consistent security
NOT THE BEST FIT IF YOU…
  • Haven't verified your DVR is actually recording recently
  • Can't access cameras remotely
  • Turned off security alerts because there were too many
  • Not certain what your current cameras actually cover
  • A terminated employee may still have valid credentials
  • Had a break-in and couldn't provide footage to police

What Happens After the Assessment

The assessment is genuinely no-obligation. Here’s what typically happens next:

  • You receive the written summary — same day for straightforward assessments, within a few days for larger facilities.
  • Review it on your own timeline. Take it to a budget meeting. Share it with your partner or IT team. Get a second opinion from another vendor.
  • If you want to move forward with Brivy IT, we scope the project in detail and provide a formal proposal based on whichever option aligns with your priorities.
  • If you want to think about it — or decide to handle it differently — we stay available for questions. No follow-up pressure, no expiring offers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really free with no obligation?
Yes. We provide a written assessment with no requirement to hire us, no follow-up sales calls unless you want them, and no expiring offers. Clients who get a genuinely useful assessment call us when they're ready.
How long does the assessment take?
Most assessments take about an hour on-site for facilities up to 10,000 square feet. Larger facilities or multi-building properties take longer. We give you a time estimate when you book.
Do I need to prepare anything?
It helps to have access to your current DVR/NVR and to know roughly where your cameras are. Beyond that, we handle the rest. If you don't know where your recording equipment is, that's actually useful information.
Will you try to sell me something during the assessment?
No. The assessment is a fact-finding exercise. We ask questions, take notes, and look at what's there. The options and costs come in the written summary after — not during the walkthrough.
What if my system turns out to be fine?
We tell you that, specifically. We've completed assessments where the honest answer was 'your cameras are adequate, your DVR is healthy, here are two minor configuration fixes you can make yourself.'
Can I request an assessment for a new location?
Yes — and this is often the best time to do it. Designing security into a new space before you occupy it is significantly easier and usually less expensive than retrofitting after.
