PHYSICAL SECURITY

Turing AI Security Systems — Flexible, NDAA-Compliant Cameras for Utah Businesses

From basic cloud cameras to LLM-powered natural language video search — Turing is the most flexible AI security platform we offer, and the one we reach for when NDAA compliance, on-premise recording, or remote/solar deployment is on the table.

Turing AI builds one of the most modular security platforms available: the same cameras and cloud management software can run a simple 4-camera office system or a multi-site enterprise deployment with natural language video search powered by large language models. You start where you need to and scale up as your requirements grow.

For Brivy IT clients, Turing comes up in three specific situations: when NDAA compliance is a hard requirement, when a client needs cameras somewhere that doesn’t have power or internet (solar/4G path), or when the flexibility of tiered AI licensing — from free VMS to LLM-powered search — matches their growth trajectory better than a fixed-tier platform.

The Turing Platform — How It's Structured

One Platform, Four Capability Tiers — Start Where You Need, Scale When You’re Ready

Turing’s licensing tiers are genuinely mix-and-match — you can start at Basic and add Core AI later, or deploy Core AI from day one. The hardware works across all tiers.

TierFeaturesBest For
Basic (Free)Free cloud VMS, live view + playback, basic edge analytics, camera health alertsBudget-conscious deployments, basic monitoring
EssentialPeople & vehicle detection, event snapshots, 7-day cloud storage, 3rd-party ONVIF supportGrowing businesses that need analytics
Core AI (Most Popular)Face & clothing AI, vehicle attributes, LPR, 5-second event clips, SMS/email/app alertsSerious security deployments — most Brivy IT clients start here
Guardian AIChat-based video search, natural language alerts, AI summary reports, LLM-powered analyticsHigh camera count environments, complex investigations

For most Brivy IT clients, Core AI is the right starting point — it includes everything you’d expect from a serious AI security system: advanced detection, LPR, event clips, and real-time alerts. Guardian AI is the recommendation when natural language search and AI-generated incident summaries are operationally valuable.

Turing Hardware — Three Deployment Paths

NVR-Based, Edge Direct-to-Cloud, or Solar/4G Remote — the Right Architecture for Where Your Cameras Need to Go

Smart Series — NVR-Based

NDAA compliant, on-premise recording, 2-12MP cameras, 3rd-party ONVIF compatible, up to 10-year warranty. Best for offices, retail, warehouses with existing infrastructure.

Edge+ — Direct to Cloud

No NVR required, 256GB-1TB onboard recording, 1-year Core AI included, cloud-first architecture. Best for smaller deployments, fast setup, no server room.

SolarShield / SiteShield

No power outlet needed, no internet connection needed, 4G LTE connectivity, solar or shore power options, 3-year Core AI included. Best for construction sites, remote lots, parking areas.

GREAT FIT IF YOU…
  • NDAA compliance is a hard requirement — government, healthcare, or federal contracts
  • You want on-premise recording with cloud access — not fully cloud-dependent
  • You need cameras without reliable power or internet — solar/4G path
  • You want a no-NVR option for small deployment — Edge+ is the cleanest solution
  • Natural language video search is operationally useful — Guardian AI delivers this
  • You want flexible, tiered licensing that scales with your needs
NOT THE BEST FIT IF YOU…
  • Tight integration between cameras and access control in one platform — Verkada handles this better
  • You have existing IP cameras to keep — Lumana's camera-agnostic AI is usually the better fit
  • Verkada's 10-year warranty and full cloud management are the priority
  • Budget is the primary constraint — we'll assess all options honestly

NDAA Compliance — Why It Matters for Some Utah Businesses

NDAA Section 889 prohibits the use of certain Chinese-manufactured surveillance equipment in federal contracts and by federal contractors. Turing’s Smart Series and Edge+ cameras are NDAA compliant — meaning they can be deployed by businesses with government contracts, in government facilities, or by organizations that need to certify their supply chain.

Utah-Specific Note: Utah has a significant federal government and defense contractor presence — Hill Air Force Base, federal agency offices along the Wasatch Front, and a large number of defense-adjacent businesses in Utah County. NDAA compliance is a more common requirement in this market than in many others.

Guardian AI — The Natural Language Tier

Ask Your Security System a Question. Get an Answer.

Turing’s Guardian AI is the most sophisticated software layer we deploy — powered by large language models, it lets operators search footage the way they’d describe it in conversation: ‘show me everyone who entered the north entrance wearing a red jacket after 8pm on Tuesday.’ The system returns results, not a timeline to scrub through.

Chat-Based Video Search

Search footage in natural language — describe the person, vehicle, or event you're looking for. Guardian AI returns results across all cameras and timeframes simultaneously.

AI Summary Reports

Automatically generated incident summaries from video data — useful for HR investigations, insurance documentation, and law enforcement coordination.

Customized Language-Based Alerts

Create alert conditions in natural language rather than configuring zone-and-threshold rules. Describe what you want to be notified about; Guardian handles the detection.

Safe City Integration

For environments that work with law enforcement: NCIC license plate database integration, real-time hotlist alerts, and enhanced vehicle attribute search.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Turing different from Verkada?
Two main differences: architecture and NDAA compliance. Turing's Smart Series records on-premise on an NVR — not purely cloud-dependent like Verkada. Turing's cameras are NDAA compliant across the board. Verkada has stronger integrated access control and a longer warranty track record. We assess which fits.
What's the difference between Core AI and Guardian AI?
Core AI gives you advanced detection, face and clothing recognition, vehicle attributes, LPR, event clips, and alerts. Guardian AI adds natural language video search and AI-generated incident summaries powered by large language models. Core AI is right for most deployments.
Is Turing really NDAA compliant?
Yes — Turing's Smart Series and Edge+ cameras carry NDAA Section 889 compliance. We can provide compliance documentation as part of the deployment.
Does Turing work with cameras we already own?
Turing Vision supports 3rd-party ONVIF cameras at the Essential license tier and above. It's not as camera-agnostic as Lumana — which is purpose-built for existing camera deployments — but it can work with compatible 3rd-party cameras.
You said you're newer to Turing — how does that affect what I should expect?
We assess and deploy platforms we understand thoroughly before recommending them. We don't do learning-on-the-job at your expense. When we recommend Turing for your situation, it's because we've determined it's genuinely the right fit.
